John Mead and Mary Abrell

The Name

The original spelling appears to have been "Mead". However, over time, some branches ended up with the "e" attached. We have assigned the original spelling, until we found some sort of proof that a particular individual spelled his/her surname with the "e", in which case we changed the name from "Mead" to "Meade", but only for that particular family group. Please remember to look in the index under Mead as well as Meade when searching for an individual.
